Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers announced a new tour this morning that includes an Aug. 14 date at the Darien Lake Performing Arts Center, Route 77, Darien Center.

The rockers are also planning to release “Mojo,” their first studio album in eight years, this spring.

The tour kick off in Raleigh, N.C., on May 6 and makes its way to arenas and amphitheatres across the U.S. and Canada before wrapping Aug. 27 in Saratoga Springs.

Guest artist at the Darien Lake date will be Crosby, Stills and Nash, according to the tour announcement.

Guests on other dates include My Morning Jacket, Joe Cocker, ZZ Top, and Drive-By Truckers.

Tickets go on sale beginning March 8 at LiveNation.com.

Prices were not announced, though online ticket purchases will include an MP3 download of “Mojo.” It will work like this; once fans purchase tickets online they will receive an email with codes entitling them to download two tracks from Mojo ("First Flash Of Freedom" and "Good Enough.") Then, on the release date of the album, currently slated for this spring, ticket buyers will be sent a download of the entire album. Also included with every online ticket purchase, to be delivered at the end of the 2010 tour, will be a selection of live tracks recorded during the tour.

Welcome to the discussion.
