ALBION – A. J. Monacelli, a dentist for 34 years, is trying to sell his Albion practice at the corner of Allen Road and Route 98.

Monacelli will soon have surgery on his neck and he said he will be unable to work after the operation. His last day treating patients will be March 24.

His staff will continue to hopefully transition the practice to a new owner, a process that could take a couple of months, Monacelli said in a statement faxed to The Daily News.

“It is with deep regret and sadness that I have to write this,” Monacelli said in the letter.

He noted he had back surgery in June that sidelined him. He thanked his patients for their friendship over the years.

“I thank you for trusting me to treat your dental needs and be part of your life,” Monacelli said. “You are and always will be a big part of my life. Thank you for the memories. I have been truly blessed.”
